Frodo is an Android debugging library for logging RxJava Observable and Subscriber behavior directly to Logcat. It uses annotations to identify reactive methods and classes that should be instrumented. A Gradle plugin generates and weaves the required logging code only into debug builds, allowing annotations to remain safely in production source. Observable logging can report emitted values, execution time, schedulers, and lifecycle events. Configurable scopes let developers choose how much information each annotated stream should expose. Subscriber annotations provide similar visibility into values and callbacks received from Observables. The project targets the original RxJava API and has known limitations with Android library modules.

Features

  • RxJava Observable logging
  • Subscriber lifecycle inspection
  • Annotation-driven instrumentation
  • Configurable logging scopes
  • Debug-only bytecode weaving
  • Gradle plugin integration
