DarQ is a free, open-source Android utility that enables forced dark mode for selected applications running on Android 10 or later. It allows users to activate dark interfaces in individual apps that do not provide native dark theme support. Rather than applying forced dark mode systemwide, the software manages application-specific preferences. It uses root access or Shizuku through ADB to apply configuration changes without requiring an accessibility service. DarQ can also automatically enable the system dark theme and selected forced dark settings between sunset and sunrise. This scheduling feature adjusts interface appearance according to the time of day. Its lightweight approach provides additional control over Android's built-in dark theme behavior. The repository was archived in June 2026 and is no longer actively maintained.
