Blume is an open-source documentation framework that turns a folder of Markdown or MDX files into a production-ready docs site with minimal setup. Its CLI creates and manages a hidden Astro project, so users can get navigation, search, theming, Open Graph images, and reusable components without maintaining application boilerplate. Static HTML builds are optimized for speed, while configuration remains optional and type-safe through TypeScript. Blume includes local search, internationalization, SEO tooling, API references, PDF and EPUB export, and multiple content sources. It is also designed for AI consumption through llms.txt outputs, raw Markdown routes, agent skills, an optional assistant, and MCP access. Users can eject the generated project into a standalone Astro app whenever they need full control.

  • Zero-config Markdown and MDX documentation sites
  • Built-in local and external search options
  • AI-ready documentation and MCP access
