I've got an SK-3500 maxi multi mega combo (why buy crap if you can buy
nicely manufactured stuff that will last for ages? Some other candidates:
Lindy 42842 and DELOCK 42284).
[on my P3/700, that thing has some whopping 37MB/s vs. the internal IDE 2.5"
at 26.9MB/s!]
SMART access on Firewire actually *works* (see log below, and oh wow
those details!),
but only when manually specifying -d sat (somewhat of a shame).
While there are drivedb.h mechanisms to supply -d flags
for cooperative USB IDs ("USB:" prefix, see knowndrives.cpp),
I'm afraid there ain't no such thing for Firewire?
(git grep -i firewire was "less successful")
And if so, do you happen to know something that could be done about it?
