Hi guys, I decided to play around a little bit with the Swing UI. I tried to incorporate a package called InfoNode Docking Windows. It's dual licensed with GPL & commercial. Basically it gives you a very flexible UI with very little cost. I have gotten the bigger parts of the BasicFrame pulled into dockable windows - rocket viewer, component tree, tool box, and simulation window. Attached are three snapshots I've made while playing around. Where do I see the UI going? I don't know. There are a couple of things I think would be nice: 1) smaller tool box buttons - or an option for large and small buttons, 2) make the component editor dialog not a dialog but rather a part of the BasicFrame (either replacing the current tool box, or one of these nifty docking windows). I think having multiple rocket viewers open could be fun - one in diagram mode one in 3d for example. Maybe the 3d viewer should be its own component. Kevin PS - none of this code will be committed unless its on a branch. |
