I'm the author of what I think was the first colour picker plugin. I've tried to contact people about this, but no one seems to reply.
Historically there have been quite a few colour picker plugins. I've seen one like mine that was written in Delphi, there's one on the wiki (which is attributed to me) which people keep telling me doesn't work with unicode notepad++, and I recall there being another one somewhere too.
I've got an updated version of my plugin which works everywhere (as far as I know), which I'd like to put somewhere. I don't know if anyone's maintaining the version that's on the wiki (it doesn't seem to have been updated this year). What's the least confusing way to sort this out?

Great to hear there's a unicode version of this. If you post a message here with a URL to the ANSI and Unicode versions, then people can download it.
Then, if this is truly a new version of the plugin on the wiki, then update the wiki with the new version. If it's not the same one, then add it (or I or someone else will) to the wiki list.
If you've not got somewhere to put it, by all means email it to me and I'll put it somewhere downloadable.
Once there's permanent download links, I'll also add it into the plugin manager list.

Obviously there was a problem as two plugins with the same name were sybmitted somehow.
The one on the wiki is featured on the npp-plugins project. I just checked the Delphi sources, and its author id's as Don Rowlett, n email link provided.
I'm going to change this right now. The implication is that your plugin is not referenced on the wiki, so it will be a new entry.
Please visit the wiki a couple days before updating Plugin Central. Giving write rights to people is a manual process, so it requires some time for me to spot you and promote you as Editor. This is a SF policy, not the project's, sorry about the inconvenience.
As Dave mentioned, the wiki needs a download link for your plugin.
Additionally, if you can figure wat was the 3rd colour plugin, thn please contact me about it or add it as well!

I have created an entry for your plugin, the only known link to which is on the Notepad++ website. Feel free to amend it as you see fit.
The confusion arose from the fact that the the former download page plugin list referred to your plugin, while the npp-plugins project features a diffeent one with the same name. This is how the wiki got a mixed entry. Fixed now.
I have seen a "Peacock color picker for Notepad++" featured on www.reohix.com. The 2.7Mb .msi file would not open on my office machine, will try at home. That could be a 3rd colour picker, who knows.

Hi - I'm running a fresh install of Npp 5.4.5 on Windows XP, and can't find a color picker plugin that works at all from the wiki. I keep getting the message that the ANSI version won't work with my UNICODE Npp.
I see you mention that the only known link to Matthew's color picker is on the Npp website….but I can't find it anywhere (only the wiki plugins). Can you point me in the right direction, please?

There are two plugins with similar name:
* Colour picker, an unicode version 1.3 is featured on the npp-plugins project
* Color picker, whose only public version is ANSI, so that your unicode Notepad++ won't load it.
Author of the latter hasn't yet, to my knowledge (Dave??) published a link to his new unicode version. Whenever I can see an unbroken link, it will be on the wiki asap. In the meantime, you are left with asking author to email his files, I think.

I did need as well a *working" UNICODE colour picker plugin, and since the "unicode" one in the wiki isn't actually unicode (or anyway doesn't work with n++ unicode) I had to spend quite some time in searching for a working one, which incidentally is the one linked form that forum post :)

The plugin you refer to is Esay Color Picker, whose version 1.3 is hosted on the npp-plugins project. You can find the link on the Plugin Central page in NpWiki++. (http://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins/files/ColorPicker/ColorPicker_130_dll.zip)
