Hi, I spent a good chunk of this morning googling this problem and I can't find an answer anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated!!!
The problem is this:
-I open N++.
-Open Style Configurator.
-Modify a style (Plastic Code Wrap for example).
-Save & Close Style Configurator
-After editing files, I then close N++.
-Then reopen N++.
-N++ shows the selected style (Plastic Code Wrap), but it doesn't include any of the changes I made in my previous session.
This has happened several times now and I don't have a clue why. I tried looking through all the temp folders and appdata folders to find where N++ stores my current style config while the program is open so maybe I can manually cut & paste the data into the standard file it loads on start, but I found nothing. All the files I found would not change if I changed something in N++ S.C.. I would open up the Plastic Code Wrap XML file and edit all the HEX colors manually, but it's a pain to do that because N++ only shows the RGB numbers through the windows dialog and It will just take a long time...
Please tell me why it doesn't work or what I'm doing wrong? What good is "Save & Close" if it only saves for that session?
I'm running Windows 7 RC build 7100 if that helps at all.
Thanks to everyone for any information!!!

Thanks SO MUCH!!! I don't know why I didn't try it (blinded by frustration I guess), but THANK YOU!!!
The "Run-as Administrator" worked perfect! There is even a setting where you can permanently have a shortcut R/A/Admin. I also turned off UAC, but I don't think that affected anything.
Thanks Again!

My gut feeling is that your settings are saved on a different account than the one you expect. Does disablin UAC help? If so, then tricking Windows 7 via a launch using Run as... will help. Another possibility is that Notepad++ attempts to write to %APPDATA% and Win 7 blocks that. Try putting all the configuration besides Notepad++.exe perhaps.
Nort tested, my XP machine still works :-)
