Hi,
I use notepad++ religiously and love it, but the one thing that causes me massive problems with big projects is the fact that tabs automatically extend sideways. I'd love to be able to force them onto a new line, for example it currently looks like this, where they continue across the screen and require scrolling:
I don't seem to be able to locate these options, but from the sound of it they sound wrong.
What I want to achieve is instead of having a single line of tabs at the top that scroll when more than there is room for display is to have them layered, so instead of
[_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] | End of visible screen area, scroll displays | [_TAB_] [_TAB_]
Hi,

I'd love to be able to force them onto a new line, for example it currently looks like this, where they continue across the screen and require scrolling:
[____] [____] [____] [____] [____] [____] [____] > scroll
I'd like it like this:
[____] [____] [____] [____] [____] [____] [____]
[____] [____] [____] [____] [____] [____] [____]
[____] [____] [____] [____]
Is this possible currently or possible to be implemented? Would make project management a lot easier.
Oh, you mean the document tabs, not the indents...
Settings -> Preferences -> Global -> Tab bar, check the Multilines option.

Exactly what I was looking for, I love you! :D
Doesn't Edit -> Word Wrap help?
Or TextFX Tools -> Rewrap text to (Clipboard) or 72 chars?

I don't seem to be able to locate these options, but from the sound of it they sound wrong.
What I want to achieve is instead of having a single line of tabs at the top that scroll when more than there is room for display is to have them layered, so instead of
[_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] | End of visible screen area, scroll displays | [_TAB_] [_TAB_]
I want it to do:
[_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_]
[_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_]
[_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_]
[_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_] [_TAB_]
So there is only the screens width of tabs, then any more go onto another line if tabs. Does this make sense?
