This is more of a feature request than a bug. I sometimes open a file on a network and keep it open even when the network is not available (the server goes into energy-saving standby until woken again). Notepad++ evidently detects this as it asks whether to reload the file, or offers to save the current file when the network becomes available. This is not a serious problem, but I have to remember whether the saved and current versions are the same and, if not, which is correct.
It would be useful for Notepad++ to check (e.g., via CRC) whether a file being loaded or saved when the stored file and the file in the buffer have the same name and contents; if the same, consider that the stored file is being edited without asking questions.
