Since my default debugger was replaced by the Visual Studio JIT Debugger thingy, it just says "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in notepad++.exe [20612]
Here's what I did to make it crash:
1. Open a file.
2. View > User Define Dialog
3. Save as.. > insert name
4. Change something like, the foreground color
5. Close the dialog
6. Crash
Edit:
After some experiments, I think the problem is the user defined language's name.
Some examples I tried:
1. Apple / apple - No crash
2. Applee - No crash
3. Appleeee / appleeee - Crash
4. Valkyrie / valkyrie - Crash
I found out that if the name is longer or equal to 8 characters, it's crashing. Can you please confirm that?

Hi :)
When I changed the syntax highlighting to one of the user defined language I created, Notepad++ crashes.
It only happened to user defined languages.
I tried running with -noPlugin but it does not change anything.
Help anyone?
Thanks in advance :)
I just tried (5.4.3u, plenty of plugins) and it just works.
Does launching with -noPlugin option make a difference?
Does a clean reinstall make a difference?
CChris
Did you create the language from the User Define Language panel, or as an XML file?
Are you using the latest version of N++ (5.4.3)?
What exactly happens on the crash? Is a NppSump.dmp file created? If so, emailing it to donho would help.
CChris
Hi there :)
I created it under View > User Define Dialog
And yes, I'm currently using N++ 5.4.3
And no, the file was not created. I looked in %APPDATA% and N++ folder and I did not saw it.
Correct me if I'm looking at the wrong place.
And thanks for the reply :)
The actual name was NppDump.dmp. When phpBB is on,one will be able to edit one's posts and preview them.
The file should have been in either location. So now, what _exactly_ happens? "Notepad++.exe has encountered a problem", or anything more specific?
CChris
About the dmp file, nope, can't find.

Sorry, left out something:
5. Close the dialog
6. Language > the user defined language you created !!!
7. Crash
