There are two special character ő-Ő and ű-Ű are not appearing rightly during typing. The appearance is o-O or u-U. But reading a text document, that contains these characters is OK.
I'm using the latest final build 5.4.3.

Under XP, I have found that enabling advanced text services solved a bunsh of non latin character issues with NP++. I don't know about Vista or Win 7, but it could be a lead.

I have a related problem too, with the Romanian characters on Windows 7 RC x64. ş-Ş and ţ-Ţ don't appear correctly, and ăĂ îÎ â look slightly differently than they should. I had these problems in 5.4 and now updated to 5.4.3 and they're still here.
All other programs (including the old Notepad) work correctly. Also, I've been using Romanian characters inside Notepad++ on XP x64 without problems.
Important: if I copy&paste from word, the characters are pasted correctly.

With Russian characters in Windows 7 I have some problem. "Программирование основа основ" writing as "Ïðîãðàììèðîâàíèå îñíîâà îñíîâ". And in XP all work without any problems.

Well, under Windows 7 and Vista, advanced services are enabled by default, and there's actually no way to disable them. Thanks for the idea though!
It works if you set the compatibility options to "Vista SP2".
Could you remove all plugin then try it again?
