        What was the repository you used? (http://pydev.sourceforge.net/updates or http://www.fabioz.com/pydev/updates/\)?

        Just as a note, I've just tested it with both and it seems to work (on eclipse 3.4.1). It could be that the internet went down exactly at the time you were trying (but it seems to be OK now).

        If it still fails, you can try the .zip install...

      Oops, browser refresh -> double submit. Anyway the repo I used is http://pydev.sourceforge.net/updates/ and that's still failing. Changing things to use http://www.fabioz.com/pydev/updates/ instead works.

      It's worked in the past.

      This same failure was what started my problems (led me to trying the overnight builds). I was failing when going to fabioz site as well.

      I should add that I could manually click through the url and see the jar files. so it was odd

      I've tried updating a few times over the last 3 or 4 days.  I get this problem every time so I don't think it's a connectivity issue.

      I use http://www.fabioz.com/pydev/updates/ for both pydev open source & extensions.

      I added: http://pydev.sourceforge.net/updates/ which has allowed me to upgrade pydev open source

      but I still can't upgrade extensions.

      I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling extensions.  No joy.

      I've resorted to downloading the zip and manually installing.  Which has worked.

      Most frustrating.

      In the end, I had to remove pydev and all the updates from the config.

      Then reinstall using repo http://www.fabioz.com/pydev/updates/

      I had the same error this morning. Fixed it by deleting then recreating the download site with URL "http://pydev.sourceforge.net/updates/"

      This may be a manifestation of the infamous "no repository found" bug in Eclipse 3.4.

      I've upgraded my Eclipse to a beta of the next release, in which the update functionality has been reworked significantly.  It seems to be much faster and does not give (so far) these types of spurious errors.

      Another thought.... I've seen instances where the content.jar and site.xml files are out of sync on the version number due, apparently, to delays in updates of the distribution servers.

      Same problem here, on two different computers (one Linux, one Windows, on different networks). I had the same problem with the last update and only solved it with a completely fresh install of Eclipse. So I fear this bug will essentially stop me from ever updating PyDev in the future, which is is a major annoyance.

      Pydev is the only extensions causing this problem for me, so it is Pydev specific (even it if is caused by an underlying Eclipse bug).

      The mirror server at aptana (pro version) does not seem to work at all, it remains empty.

        O.K., now it works, replacing the update server again with the original one did the trick.
