the software runs fine on my htc niki with windows mobile but i can't connect to my 747a+ over bluetooth.
i have not Hw hacked my 747a+. but i think i don't need it cause i read that that was only necessary for older models, is that right ?
747a+ connects with the htc by bluetooth. but your software can't find it. even tried to switch on serial connect in the device menu of the preferences for the htc.
i have also an option to choose a com port once for software and once for hardware for an extrenal gps device on the htc. i choose com 4 for hardware but couldn't choose the same for software. tried another one. and then tried those in your software but couldn't connect neither by serial nor bluetooth.

Your device should indeed not need a hack and regardless of that: you should still be able to connect and see the current position in BT747.
Some people were able to use an HTC and BT747, some other had issues but found a solution. I can only give you some hints here.
You can set up native port sharing on your device, and probably also use the HW port directly if you do not set up port sharing (but I guess that you did, so I would try to see if I could deactivate it). Some explications are here: http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2006/06/07/620387.aspx

The first URL you gave me helped me with the step by step tutorial. i searched in the wrong menus on my htc for the setting of the com port.
windows isn't as easy to understand as your program. Great work by the way !

One user got it to work using GPSGate, another port splitter and he was quite happy with that solution so he did not fully investigate his problem when not using it.
