I really don't have time to work on the compare plugin anymore, and I was wondering if anyone else would like to take over development?

Main responsibilities are:
ensuring that the compare plugin continues to work with new releases.

However, if you're feeling energetic, I'm sure theres a ton of things you can do to improve the plugin :p
