I recorded a macro and then deleted it in shortcut mapper as instructed in the help file, but it still shows up in the "Run Macro Multiple Times" macro drop-down...

Thanks for the tip!
I use macros. I can verify that you are not crazy. The saved macro stays on the run multiple times LOV, but only within the same edit session.
If you close down N++ and restart it, the macro won't be in the list any longer.
