Is there a way to turn off highlighting the edited lines when you make changes to a file?

I've looked through stylers.xml and I don't have any backgrounds set to white or anything near white, but any time I start typing the line turns and stays white.  I have a black background with light colors so this makes it problematic to read.  Even after saving the file, it still has the changed line highlighted.

I could not reproduce this, so I still believe you may want to review your colour options from the dialog box to configure highlighting.

Btw, I noticed that background on the current line was respected in html, but not in C, or in Euphoria (an UDL).
Can someone point me to why there is a difference between HTML an C behaviours?

In Parameters -> Configure syntax highlighting:

1/ Check the DEFAULT style for the language you are using, if it is a built-in language

2/ Check the Global style -> Global override style, and uncheck the Apply to foreground checkbox if it is checked.

If using n user defined language, go to User Defined Language Panel, select your language in the dropdown list and then check the default style.

If all of this fals, please come back with more info (version, OS, type of file being edited, etc).

Any type of file, it's all the same.  Specifically, I am looking at a .php file right now.  checking both the stylers.xml and the built-in editor all backgrounds are set to 000000 for php.  I also work with javascript, html, perl, bash/shell, xml and other languages that all have this highlighting problem.

Currently my configuration has no backgrounds set to white or near white.  I went line-by-line in the stylers.xml file trying to find the color definition for this and it looks like there is not one.  I do not have any background colors greater than a cyan, which is obviously closer to blue than white.

I use Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Pro x64, Windows XP Media Center, Windows XP Home, and Vista Home Premium.

Notepad++ 5.3 both RC1 and Final exhibit this highlighting.

But, I did find how to reproduce the highlighting.  I'm not positive, but I think it was already reported as a bug.  If you uncheck "Line Change State Margin" in the "Edit Compotents" Tab under preferences it starts highlighting every edited line.  I turned this off because it was distracting to have the edited marker in the margin, but it's worse without it because of the line highlighting.
