    NP doesn't highlight code for php, html properly.

    Create new file, write simple clean php or clean html code, save as .php or .html and code in NP isn't highlighted as it should. This also comes when paste html or php code into new file and save it as php or html.

    In menu language is recognized but code is highlight properly only when I close file and open it again, or change language from menu for sth different (java, c etc.) and then change language again for php or html .

      Guys are you gonna fix it finally? 5.4.4 and 5.4.5 are broken too.

        I don't know what are you guys doing ...
        The latest working version is 5.3.1.
        Syntax highlighting problem exists in all 5.4 versions (5.4.1, 5.4.2, 5.4.3).

      Edit: Highlight problem exists when there is at least one [ENTER] in code.
      The last working good version was npp 5.0.3. Problem is inside notepad++.exe file.

      To check if npp highlight properly make new file, type to it:
      <?php [enter]
      echo"test";  [enter]
      ?>, and save as test.php

      or
      <html> [enter]
      <body> test </body> </html>

      Code shouldn't be highlighted properly.

      This code should be highlighted ok:
      <?php echo "test"; ?>
      or
      <html> <body> test </body> </html>

      It highlights the basic functions here, but not all the functions in PHP!

      Here's how it is...

      Here's how it should be...

      Any solution/fix?

      Wow this forum is really gay. No BBcode, no editing options, no searching, nothing.

      Bug still exists in NP 5.2++. It so annoying when new versions are coming and no improvement, time to change this soft for sth other...

      Hnatek's bad syntax highlighting seems to only exist on files created in N++ and saved as php or html after the code has been added -- N++ for some reason doesn't completely refresh the syntax highlighting properly.

      However if you use the Language menu to chose the language or save the file before adding the code, or if after you save you close and reopen, the highlighting will be correct.

      As for Gudjon Jonsson's issue, that appears to be a different problem.  Please do a search to see if your issue or a similar enough problem has already been reported, and if not please start a new thread and describe your problem in detail.

      I also have the problem with syntax highlighting: when i drag and drop the file (file.sql) into the application, it recognizes it (as .sql file), but if i double click on the file it is recognized as normal text.. :-(
