I have read the previous posts, but still have problems installing Cantera in Ubuntu 8.10...

First there seems to be a problem with the stdlib.h and stdlib.h which are not loaded during compilation.
I can force it with a flag, but then two files are supposed to be compiled without these libraries in order to compile properly ( util.c and err.c ).

Once I compile these two files manually, I run again make, and it all works (although it wont work with python3, it does with python2.5).

    make install works as well.

Note that I did the installation without sundials (I think the file hierarchy in the ubuntu distro is different in the cvodes and sundials folders - then again, it is possible to do it manually).

But when I run the demos, the gcc works fine
    the f77 does not compile
the f90 compiles but gives me an error at the execution
    ************************************************
                    Cantera Error!
    ************************************************

    Procedure: _equilflag
    Error:   unknown property pair e

the matlab extension wont work either..

    Any idea?

If anybody has a version already compiled on a compatible ubuntu machine, I am interested!
