First off, Notepad++ is great ! I use it every day.

Silly question; how do I read the help documents on Notepad++?

When I have question about Microsoft Word or Firefox, for example, I can normally go to the Help menu and find a way to search for an answer.  I must be blind though, I can't quickly find a way to the help documentation on Notepad++.

    Thanks :)

It is very unfortunate that such a great application has such poorly organized documentation.
There's plenty of information available about the various features in NP++, but it is scattered around a number of different locations including the main web site, the sf wiki and these forums (most topics are covered in these forums, however searching the forums is not a quick task).

It would be nice to have one central location with all of the general user documentation available and up-to-date.

Sorry, I haven't been in the forum lately..

Anyways, yes, Don should create a wiki or something with great documentation. It doesn't have to be as complicated (or simple in my opinion for both managing, setup, and editing) as a wiki, but less popular apps have documentation.

list_lfa, What do you mean by emailing its address to someone?

Are you saying you need to select all of the text and put it into a email? Then use Edit and Select All then Copy and Paste into your email program...

Or do you mean the file location of the file?

In Word, Properties has never been in the file menu as far as I remember since I have used Word 97 all the way up to Word 2007 right now...

Click on the ? Button on the top toolbar. (It's last)

      Then click Online Help!

      Hope this helps!

Plus, you can also look at the Notepad+ Website...

      Thanks for your suggestions.

Maybe it will help if I provide my example of what I did before I posted here;  I have a file open and I want to email it's address to someone.  So I need a way to select that text.

I don't see anything like 'Properties' in the menu File.  This is what I think I use in Word.
I don't see a menu Help, which is in every other Windows program I can remember using in the last 15 years.
      I try the menu '?'
I open Online Help.  Opens a site I can't search and shows a page with esoteric info like pronounciation of the products name and column mode selection. I close that.
I open Wiki FAQ.  Same useless text as above, but has a search right above it.  The search doesn't work.  Close that.
I open Forum.  A lot of questions here :)  But the search at the top of the page searches something completely different, I get a list of programs or something.
I give up and go to google.  No luck there either.

Is there anything I can try?
