I would like to use NP++ as my main file viewer, but I want it to open files as read only by default.  I know that this can be done with the command line version, but is there any option I can set so that the Windows version does it?  Thank you.

Well, you could setup all the shortcuts to use the command line read-only option.

Just go to START right-click, choose EXPLORE and find PROGRAMS, then NOTEPAD++ and change the shortcut.

If you miss any you can always do a search on your PC for all shortcuts with NOTEPAD in them and check those out too.
