    Good day!

I'm trying to use pylint with PyDev& And when configuring I see that the --include-ids=y is included always. but when I try to run pylint interrups with message  lint.py: error: --include-ids option does not take a value :(

when from console running the lint.py with --include-ids everything is fine.

Any idea how to run over this ?

    Oh:  the Eclipse is
    Version: 3.4.1
    Build id: M20080911-1700

    and the PyDEV is 1.3.24

    Best regards,
    Ilya Dyoshin

Please add that as a bug (also, please add the pylint version -- as this appears to be a change in the command-line interface provided by pylint, so, if you get a previous version it should work -- although I don't know at which version this backward-incompatibility was introduced).

      Cheers,

      Fabio

Actually, looking at the PyLint tutorial ( http://www.logilab.org/card/pylint_tutorial ) it says to use --include-ids=<y_or_n>

So, it might be actually a bug introduced in it (so, before reporting a bug in Pydev, please ask the PyLint guys whether this was actually expected...).

        Cheers,

        Fabio

I experienced the same problem, and tried to revert to earlier versions of pylint. It looks like the problem is actually not so much the version of pylint being used than the version of logilab-common. ver0.36.0 will throw the error on --include-ids=y, ver0.35.0 does not.

In any case, it might be worth adding some kind of test under the hood, to use one behavior or the other depending on the user's configuration.
