Hi, I'm a big fan of Notepad++, it's simply best text/src code editor ever seen ^^.
I would like it to have differents icons for different file extension. For example, if the file is .php, the icon should be the commonly used and a added text "PHP", same for other file extensions.
7-zip does this, if you wanna try, download it or if you have it, a rar file says RAR and a zip ZIP, etc.
I think it's mostly simple and it could be a helpful and nice feature ^^.
Thanks, Ian.

When I put it in my n++ plugins directory and I opened, it said that it isn't compatible with my N++ version (5.0.3).
What a pity :P
I made the registry changes and all that but same thing keeps happening and I don't see the icon labels :(
Thanks anyway
I think that plugin is yours so if you update it'd be great :)
Or if you give me some instructions on how to install it well, because I used the batch + .reg zipped file because I couldn't find the registry entry I was supposed to look for (for me its HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Notepad++_file/shell/open/command [all subdirectories] ).
You pointed to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Notepad++_file/shellex/IconHandler, and that doesn't exist in my registry (using spanish version of N++ btw)

The file isnt a plugin for Notepad++, so you dont have to put it in the plugins folder, rather put it in the main Notepad++ folder next to nppcm.dll (if installed).
You have to manually create the IconHandler key, but I think the .reg file ought to do that. Put the batch file next to the DLL and run it, it should work automatically (reboot or re-login might be needed).
