Hello. I have a newly built windows xp sp2 machine and have installed npp 5.0.3 but it will not run. When I open it I see a window flash very briefly, but much too quick to get details of what it is. Then nothing happens.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to find out what is causing this, and fix it?

  Uninstalled notepad and did a system wide file search for notepad++ and deleted whatever i could find.
  
  notepad++ now works fine.
