So as to ease the installation of Rkward (0.4.9a) on kubuntu hardy, I would like to use "checkinstall" instead of "make install". However, the installation of the created package fails due to a problem with the package. Is there a solution ? Thanks

sorry, i don't have a solution per say. i remember having tried it a long time back and not succeeding :(( but isn't 0.4.9a (0.4.9-2??) already in kubuntu hardy? http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/rkward
i think the perennial problem is the highlighting stylesheet conflict with kate-part. kate includes one, but rkward tries to replace it with its own (which is the always at least as new as the kate-part version).
