  All good now, I'm only using the compare plugin.

    I have all default plugins installed (including Compare plugin), and I can open *.nfo or set any file in MS-DOS without problem.
    
    Could you confirm me the problem due to Compare plugin which comes with v5.0.3?

      Sorry, I meant I got rid of all plug ins except Compare, and so it now works.

        Then could you restore them one by one in order to find which plugin causes the problem?

        I can't get the error again, however I am getting this error when installing now.
