My systems manager once told me that the only stupid question is one to which you already know the answer, so here goes...

Is there any way to enter directly characters that are not provided for by any of the keyboard drivers on my system?  For example, if I want to type the character U+A64B (as I do, frequently), obviously I can type ꙋ, but can I insert the actual character into the text?  If so, how?
