Problems with line number margin

    Hi,

    Using NPP 4.6 on a WinXP Pro machine, I'm having problems with the line number margin.  Each time I'm starting NPP, the line number margin is "narrowed".  The image below shows what happens:

    When I toggle the option "Display line number margin" (which is ticked by default) in the Preferences dialogue box, the status is corrected again until the next time I'm starting NPP.  The image below is showing the status after toggling the above mentioned option:

    Anyone else ha(d)(s) the same problem?

      yes, i also have.

      usually by kicking the button of font size zooming the problem can be solved temporarily.

      Hi,

      I now see I should have used other links to refer to the images. Sorry for that... (disadvantage of not having a "preview" option???).

        I don't have this problem with version 4.7.3.
        maybe upgrade to this version would solve your problem.

          Hi,

          Indeed, just upgraded to 4.7.3 and so far, the problem is not present any more.

          In case it pops up again, I'll notify it here.

          Until then, don't spend/waste time on this subject any more.

            Have to pick up this one again.

            NPP 4.7.3

            This time, I have a file of 10000+ lines, and the number margin only shows 4 digits.

            I have to un-tick and tick the "Display line number margin" before it shows the line numbers correctly (5 digits, in this particular example).

            I remember in CodeWright there was an option where the user could define how many digits he wanted to see in the line number margin.

            Would this be a good idea to add it to NPP too?

              I am having this problem on v4.9.2. The line number margin is not wide enough for 4-digit (or greater) line numbers unless I toggle the margin off and back on again. The images posted by the OP reflect the behaviour I am experiencing.

              Is this a known problem?
