I am rebuilding everything every few weeks, reverting VMware snapshots, and I install Notepad++ daily.
This may sound silly but my main reason for installing Notepad++ is to be able to have a black background and a multicolored foreground.
So it would be awesome if there was a default "black backgound" style that I could switch to with one click instead of having to spend time fixing everything to be black background. The current line is just less than black. Highlighted text is dark grey.
That would be cool.
Maybe there is something easy I can do for now, like copy over a config file after I install or something.

Why not just save the customized stylers.xml file to a server or usb key. Then after you install npp it's just a matter of replacing the %Userprofile%\Application Data\Notepad++\stylers.xml

I like how Konsole in KDE you can quickly click "Green on Black" to do this.
Use the installer to update your Notepad++.
Installer will update your styles.xml without changing your existing settings.
Don
in witch file does notepad++ save the colour?

I didn't clearly emphasize that I use vmware and rebuild and re-image machines with clean installs. I do unattended installations, images, etc...
So the install is always fresh.
If I could go and select one single option "Black background", then that would be awesome.

Thanks this is now what I am doing.
How about a small plugin that would allow selecting between a few user-defined setups?
That would be awesome!
Sounds like a plan! :)
