I like the new smart highlighting feature in NP++, but it would be absolutely marvelous to be able to similarly select and edit text in multiple locations simultaneously.
This functionality is present in e-texteditor (click "Watch screencast" at http://www.e-texteditor.com/ ), and makes editing multiple variable names a breeze. You just select multiple words in the editor (holding down CTRL), and start typing. The text gets typed in on all selections.

Would LOVE!!! this feature (i'm very lazy :) ). Like neotoxic I signed up just to make a request for this. Found another thread about it (http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3646120) that suggested that the scintilla edit component would need to support the feature.
Going over to scintilla request tracker now!!!
