Why? That's the entire point of automatic update, so I *don't* have to do that.
Yes, I'm aware that I can, and that's how I have been doing it for the several years I've been using and loving NPP. But last time I got tired of it, and since that feature is supposed to be there now, I thought I'd use it.
I'm perfectly happy to have to go manually trigger it; I'm not a big fan of my computer doing stuff I don't know about. But it still says "no update available..."

Well, why is there an autoupdate-option when we have to use the manually download? Afaik is the autoupdate a great option, but it has to work before we can use it :).
If Don get this working, i'll be happy too.

Ha! I now see current = 4.9.2, so maybe Don knew something we didn't know... :-)
I appreciate the effort that goes into new releases and preventing regressions. I was just wondering about time-frames. I guess I will reset and wait for 4.9.2 to "age" for a bit.

I'm running a clean, installer version of 4.8.5. When I hit ?, Update Notepad++, I immediately get: "No update is available."
Any idea why it's not working? I know Don likes to wait a few days to avoid regressions. Am I just too impatient?
Perhaps you also know that you can download these versions manually. I suggest you do that instead of waiting for the automatic update availability.
