Hello. I'm a developer using eclipse + CDT under linux. I would like to see a Wascana port for linux.
It would be VERY useful to get Wascana installed in linux (and Windows too) with libraries for the other
platform too (I mean, if you have a linux installation, to have wxWidgets and mingw for windows included in
the package). This way, it would be very easy to cross-compile binaries for various platforms at the same
time. And if this could be expanded to MAC OSX, it would be really great! I know this takes time to be done.
Anyway, congratulations for the project. I tried it under windows and it's looking cool. But for now I'll stick
to eclipse + cdt for my tasks under linux.

That's an interesting idea. A Windows cross development platform for Linux. I notice a lot of the mingw tools developers are actually using Linux. I think they are actually targeting Wine. And given that GCC is so good a cross compiling, this could actually work.
But as you mention this would be a lot of work, not something I have time for now.

I want to target as many platforms as possible when developing software.
So my ideal is to use a platform (linux in my case) and to be able to
compile executables for every major platform (linux, Mac OS X and Windows).
I think the work consists in compressing a file with boost libraries, wxwidgets
and the eclipse + cdt, all of them in precompiled form.
Maybe I could help in summer, after my exams, if I have
some time. I could contribute a .tar.gz where wxWidgets for Windows and Linux
were available in precompiled form and with mingw (to make targets for windows platforms).
I cannot tell this for sure. But if I have some time, I'll tell. I'm really interested in
this kind of stuff.
