and a Whole Lot of Irony.

I find it pretty ironic that I came here this morning to notify the developers that there is a typographical error on one of the alert boxes.  It has no effect on the operation or usability of the program.  Chances are good that very few people would even noticed.  I have always been very conscious of spelling and grammar.  I promise it drives me as crazy as it does the people who are recipients to these notes.

Well, apparently the joke is on my this morning.  The first thing I noticed on the forum was a thread about the issues in Tibet.  All I know of this subject I have heard from the media.  I have done no independent research so I consider my knowledge to me minimal.  I clicked on the link to see if I could gain a better understanding of the issues.  These threads about Tibet and Beijing are an English teacher's worse nightmare.  Holy Cow!

I find it funny that I came to post about something as picky as an alert box displaying "Fount" instead of "Found" and get slammed by posts that tell me pretty quickly that a good number of users, and possibly developers, are not going to care about this in the least.

Enough of that. I am running Notepad++ v4.8.2 on Windows XP.  When editing an HTML file this morning I accidentally pressed alt-s instead of ctrl-s while trying to save the file.  An alert came up stating that the application "Can't locate SVN information".  The title of the alert box reads "File Not Fount".  I took a screen shot and posted it at http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll309/Hooked-On-Phonics/notepadTypo.jpg.

If anyone is bored today and could reply to this and let me know what an SVN is, I would appreciate it.  Thanks.

SVN is an acronym for Subversion, a version control system: http://svn.tigris.org
The dialog box is shown not by the Notepad++ itself, but by the Compare plugin (cf. main menu: Plugins - Compare).

The typo comes from Compare plugin (Menu Plugins->Compare->Compare against SVN base).
I'm sure Ty (Compare plugin author) is notified now :)

SVN is a revision control system. It's a source code repository which keeps all the trace of modification and allows developers to work on the same source code.

If you're tired of Tibet/OG issue, the following link may refresh your brain :
