    Hi,

I used the auto-updater today and I am wondering if it was a good idea. My Styler configuration is gone, My favorites from Light Explorer and all my FTP accounts from the FTP plug-in have disappeared!

Is there a way to update without having to redo your configuration?

    Thanks,

    SB

I always keep a backup of the complete Notepad++ directory. That way I can always go back to a previous version/installation/composition. It allows me to see changes in settings (files) and also to recover from any bad new version of any file.

Most of the .xml files are settings. You could make a(n extra) backup of those.

I can only advise to always have or create a backup before updating or upgrading.

Your problem is probably that youve either added or removed the file doLocalConf.xml
If its present, delete it. If its not there, add a new 0kb file with that name (in Program Files\Notepad++)

      Thanks for the advices guys.

I solved most of my problems by copying some files from my D:\Program Files\Notepad++\plugins\Config directory to the APPDATA directory. Only my favorites are lost but it is not too bad.

      Hi ,

After  i updated to the new version of Notepad++ , the function list plugin was not working properly , i manually downloaded the 1.2 version of the same and installed the plugin again , now it works fine.
Can somebody please tell me what the problem was ?...
