"Find" bug (seems serious...)

When you use Find, and the next result isn't in the current view, Notepad++ does NOT scroll down to show it---or any of the subsequent results, either.

Unless I'm overlooking something obvious, this is a serious fault which prevents Notepad++ from being very useful.

Has no one else reported this? It's hard to believe the author didn't notice it.

Do you have custom/different desktop(s) and screen(s) settings?

      Hi,

if i make search for this topic in n++ sf forum, i would find around 3 topics with around 10 posters

      http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1999067&forum_id=331754

I also had this issue with n++ version < 4.8.2. I used to see that the cursor used to point to the seached keyword but not the page focus.
today i used n++ 4.8.5 and i think this issue is solved. Now i see that f3 or shift+f3 doesnt stick to focused page but moves down and up to search the terms.

These referenced threads clearly describe what the problem is.

        > When you use Find, and the next result isn't in the current view, Notepad++ does NOT
        > scroll down to show it---or any of the subsequent results, either.

The original problem of this thread states that Notepad++ does not scroll at all.
So this seems to be another, unrelated, problem.

I think your computer is kidding you.

Dunno where this should be put, but there's also a bug in the Find/Replace function in that it freaks out with Unicode characters, even though "regular" Notepad can handle it fine... I still stick to NP++, but its annoying to do a mass copy-paste to another program just to fix a Unicode character replacement...
