    Hi all,

    I am a very happy Notepad++ - User, and I use it for programming (C, VHDL, Scripting, ...).

    There is a small feature I miss and I (and I think others, too) would be happy to have it:

    A small Text input field for a quick search, with a drop down list for the most recent searches. This can be positioned next to the icons below the menue bar.

    Thanks for this great Editor! I searched and tried much other free editors, but this is still the best!

    I agree on this COMPLETELY! I have been looking for a plugin but could not find anything but another search bar feature request made in 2007 :(

    I got a semi solution: Incremantal Search (Search->Incremental Search or Ctrl+Alt+I). It adds a quick search with very useful functionality at the bottom, right over the status bar. Downside is: It disappears every time you close the program.

    Could you ask for this on IdeaTorrent?

    Oh, by the way, you can type text anywhere, select it and use either form of volatile search. Or smart highlighting to make all occurrences easy to spot.
