I type into the find control-f box and it does a find. next time control f brings back the last typed word and allows the drop downlist to select one of those previously typed words. However it doesnt remember between running the program and closing it and opening again. Is this an option to remember this auto completion or is it not available.

As can be read elsewhere, find dialog settings are not stored to be remembered for the next session. You'll have to type them again or create a document in your session containing your favorites, which allows you to copy them time and time again.

Sorry but I can not find "elsewhere" forum, where is stated that "find dialog settings are not stored to be remembered for the next session". This functionality - especially Search / Find History remembering - is really missing to me. This is not included in future development plan?

To be honest, the SourceForge forums are mess - hard to navigate, hard to search. Even reading a thread in the right order is difficult - no wonder people end up re-posting the similar questions so often!

Trust me - whilst that may be true of some cases, it is not always the case. I have posted questions here in the past and been given the rather terse 'search the forums' reply, which is incredibly frustrating when I've just spent 10 minutes searching them with no result. All in all it makes the forums seem very unfriendly when people come here for help and are essentially told to 'go away'.
What would be a better approach would be to have a FAQ somewhere that can be publicly updated (e.g. on a wiki) so that whenever anyone asked a repeat of a question you could add it there and point to it, which would be a lot more helpful to the person looking for help, and also a lot more useful as a resource. It will also allow people such as myself, having struggled with an issue, to add the resolution for other people to find, as well as (once it has reached a critical mass of useful material) reducing the number of repetitive questions asked here.
This is how a lot of other groups do it (for example the SVN developers) and it works a lot better, both for individuals and also in fostering a sense of community.
To bring this back to the original post, I have still not found anywhere that gives an actual answer to the question. Lots of posts asking similar questions, but no answers... except to search the forums!

They are not. They are told they may find similar questions already and perhaps answers to them on the forum.

So, why ask again?
Perform a search with "search+terms".
