Maybe I'm missing something here, but you can easily change color settings using Style Configurator (Settings > Style Configurator). It saves the changes you make.

I have to agree. There are some wonderful screenshots of Notepad++ with some schemes I'd like to use. If nothing else, there really should be a button to reset to default. I'm currently looking at the prospect of uninstall/reinstall to reset my color scheme which is horribly messed up

Hi people,
i want to know if there's any way to install a color scheme or how can i save my color scheme, that's the only thing i don't like on this editor.
It's so good but when u try to change the colors... gosh... it's so frustrating so if i will do that i want to save those changes.
Color schemes are saved in the stylers.xml file, located in %APPDATA%\notepad++\. You can modify colors once for ever, given you save this file.

Yeah but one by one, maybe if i make any scheme and i want to redistribute it or back it up for myself then what can i do ?
It's so tedious for me changing one by one all the colors.
