I definitley use this feature often, because the autodetection of changes in opened files is sometimes a little bit lazy when having logfiles open in npp.
What I would like to have is a shortcut binding for "reload from disk", e.g. with "Ctrl+Shift+R"... shall I submit a feature request for this?
...and btw: thanks for this excellent editor! :)

The only problem with the shortcut is that it still prompts you if you want to reload it. I tried creaeting a macro to reload and auto confirm but it just crashes npp.

You can use my ReloadButton plugin which can be downloaded here: http://www.jhaefner.de/Download/ReloadButton.zip
Just klick on it to reload the current file.
To set a propriate shortcut (like F5), just use the shortcut manager of NPP.

As for the suggestion to just "Close/Reload", this is a convenience feature just like "Save All", "Close All", and "Close All but Active Document". Even though those same tasks can be accomplished with a few extra mouse clicks, that doesn't mean they're unnecessary features. They're still a convenience to the user, which is why those features shouldn't be removed and this one should be added. As long as the File menu doesn't filled up with too many of these menu items, I don't see what the disadvantage is.

Sometimes you just don't want to close and repoen.
Something like a "Revert to original version"? If so, I'd also like to see this.
why? heh

Menu____ : Settings
Option__ : Shortcut Mapper
Button__ : Main menu
Double click on line 3 "Reload from disk".
Compose your desired shortcut here.

I'd like to see this implemented, too.
