Wrong characters showing when I type

For some reason Notepad++ sometimes starts printing completely wrong characters when I type. For example when I type qwerty i get éöóêåí.  If I close notepad++ and start it again, it is okay again.  I normally use Normal text mode.

I'm not sure, but I presume this behaviour is triggered somehow when I paste text.
I use a clipboard organiser, M8 multi free clipboard.

    Can anyone help?

It is starting to get so annoying I will have to stop using notepad++ if I can;t get this sorted.

Either that, or using another clipboard utility. Why don't you come up with that first?

I'm having a similar problem with the latest versions (4.8.0 and 4.8.1 - 4.7.5 is fine).
However, in my case it doesn't involve any use of the clipboard (even though I use a clipboard utility like the first poster - not the same one).
All I need to do is fire up Notepad++ switch my keyboard to Greek and start typing. The output is similar to the usual problem with having a UTF8/Ansi format mix-up. Example:
      This: ±Γ΄Ζ³·ΎΊ»
      should actually be: ασδφγηξκλ

I know both would seem Greek to many of you, but trust me the first isn't :)
I've seen this kind of mess in the past when say UTF text is sent to an ANSI script or vice-versa. However, I haven't had any kind of problem of this sort with Notepad++. I've tried changing the encoding or converting from ANSI to UTF8 (with or without BOM, even though it shouldn't make any difference anyway) or UTF8 to ANSI and there's no workaround.

Last, I should say that when Notepad++ opens up a file that contains Greek characters, everything is fine. It's just the typing that won't work.

When I type in Arabic it appear also in English but different character map than normal English..

I think this is bug in 4.8 and above.....

PLEASE NOTEPAD++ I love you do not go away... :)

Sounds like you're pressing F9 at some point which is a shortcut for a special characters mode in the ConvertExt plugin. Next time it happens try hitting F9 to toggle it off or in the long term remove the shortcut using the shortcut mapper.
