    from 4.8 changelog:

    21. Change the horizontal scroll behaviour from dynamic one to static one.

I am assuming that means the horizontal scroll will always be visible.  Can you please make that a configurable setting, in the default case there is non need for a scrollbar unless there is something to scroll.

I have more info, it's definitely a bug and happens after just lunching with a new empty tab/buffer, then the horizontal scrollbar is visible, if you then create a new empty tab the scrollbar disappears on both tabs

I suggest never to lunch again, then. Just make sure your buffer never gets empty again!

It seems to behave that way.

I find it a bit annoying that after finding a word that was not on the first visible part of the file, the line it is shown in will be underneath the appearing scrollbar if it has to be visible.

Could you please auto-move the active line up if it is (partially) hidden by the scrollbar?

I didn't be clear in change log.

"Static" behaviour is relative with old one, which is more dynamic.
The current behaviour in this version is : the horizontal scroll bar will adapt the current document.
if it increases along user's scrolling, it won't be decrease, until the current documet is switched off.
In this case, horizontal scroll bar will adapt the length of current view of current switched-in document.

      So it is still dynamic.

      > So it is still dynamic

regardless of what it's called, in 4.7.5 the horizontal scrollbar was not shown unless the text extended beyond the window, in 4.8 it is always shown

I am asking to make this behavior configurable, this is at least the third time that you flipped it, just make it a setting and everyone can select what they prefer

No. in 4.8 it has the same behaviour. Just try and see.

        I'm not go for it.
This behaviour is a better compromise for me.
No mention that making it optional needs a lot of coding effort that I do not want to do.
