Wow today I am very disapointed. Does Notepad++ not have a proper good old style ASCII support ?
I tried to read some data files from 1991 and had to realise that Notepad
1. Does not detect the proper encoding. 2. There is no possibility to switch to ASCII 3. There is no possibilty to convert between ACSII and ANSI
If this is correct (perhaps I did not find it)
I suppose before having more features supporting the basics, please !

Yep, it would be a good addon to have an ASCII lookup table where you can cut/paste an ASCII symbol to your document.
Duh... search the forums and you may find something of your liking.
