I have done a few seraches on the forums, but can not find a post that relates to my question.

What I would like to do is copy lines 4 - 12500; without using the mouse or holding shift + pageup/down

Is there a way I can simply highlight all the lines with the few clicks or keyboard strokes?

Go to line 12501, press and hold down the SHIFT key, press CTRL+Home, and you can even move three lines down now, to get your desired selection.

While that would work well in this case it wouldn't be so easy to select lines 5000 to 12501.  It would be nice if you could use multi-view to select the start in one pane and the end in the other.  A Select mode could help too, enabling you to select the start then find the end by any kind of navigation, then closing the section.

A workaround would be to copy the file, then use the control+G technique to delete everything above and then below the desired text, then just select it all with control+A.
