Hi, since i didn't find a contact form or a contact mail on the site, i would like to request one feature that i like about e-text editor (which unfortunately is commercial).
I usually test regular expressions using the trial version of e-text editor which is a good environment for testing since i can type on the bottom and see the results immediately without having an ugly window floating around. The search style is much like firefox, so i think many people will appreciate it. Anyways notepad++ already beats many commercial text editors and I enjoy it very much. Good work
Humm, I think you read me wrong. I use notepad++ otherwise i wouldn't be here. I just asked for the best of two worlds. Besides i only bragged one single feature in the other editor which was that one. Why does my post seems like a negative thing??

Sure, this is very scientific reasoning.
What's an ugly window?
There are more tools like file searchers that allow you to test regular expressions.
Indeed there are lots of tools. But i really love starting a "simple" text editor and do it all in the same place.
An ugly window is one that is not so practical. Sure many applications use the same style of search. But to me those begin to look outdated and thus "ugly" (sorry if the term isn't that good).
Besides the search begins to get more user friendly if it's integrated with the environment of the application (see desktop searches,firefox and vista search just to name a few).
If you like the other aplications so much, use them.
