    Hi

I was a loyal UltraEdit user for years, until I discovered Notepad++. Thanks for making such a great open source product :) Personally I think this product is as valuable for me as Firefox, Gimp, Open Office, TortoiseCVS, Eclipse  and Audacity are. Really some of the best free and open source software available today, so keep up the good work :)

The only feature I miss (at least I haven't seen it in Notepad++), is a Favorite Files option, so one could manually add a list of files or folders that I use frequently to gain fast access to these resources.

I'm thinking about something like a expanded section of the File menu, for instance:
    File
      Favorites
        Manage Favorites
        Open Favorites
           File 1
           File 2
           Folder 1
           Folder 2
           ..
           File/Folder n

Also, while the File menu i Notepad++ allready shows the most recently files used, it's a bit confusing sometimes,
that the file I used last is displayed at the bottom and not at the top. I would like to sort the opposite way
    (previous file shown first).

I am new to Notepad++ as well and have exactly the same feature request!  I tried Ultraedit and I absolutely loved the Favorite Files window because I could access it with a hotkey and select from the file list by typing the first letter(s) of the file name.  It's an incredibly efficient and convenient way of accessing files, regardless of whether they're open!

The "Windows" popup window from the Window menu is potentially a great way to navigate open files, but has two problems:
      1) Can't select file by typing first letter(s) of name
      2) It doesn't remember resizing of columns

      >It's implemented in Explorer plugin which ussialy come with NP++ installation.

I found this in the Plugin menu but I can't figure out how to add a file to "Favorites"!

        1) Turn on the Favorites:

        Plugins -> Explorer -> Favorites

        2) Right-click on one of the icons, depending on what you want to add.  For folders, right-click on folders.  For files, right click on files, and so forth.

        3) If you want to add a sub-heading, click on Add Group.  If you want to add a file or folder itself, click on Add File or Add Folder.

        4) The rest should be self-explanatory.

Seems like my spaces where stripped away in the post, so I will draw the desired menu once more:
      File
      --Favorites
      ----Manage Favorites
      ----Open Favorites
      ------File 1
      ------File 2
      ------Folder 1
      ------Folder 2
      ------..
      ------File/Folder n

It's implemented in Explorer plugin which ussialy come with NP++ installation.

Agree with all except tortoise :) Hate'em both - CVS and SVN %) I prefer WinCvs - it don't make my explorer lag like a hell with it's shell-extensions %)

You must install the "Explorer" plugin, in standard installation is the "Light Explorer" only.
Go to to the notepad-plus home page, then to "Downloads" and scoll down until you see the plugin table.
Here will you find the Explorer plugin.
After installing you will find "Favorites ..." in the plugin / Explorer menu and a heart symbol in the toolbar to show the favorits dialog.

      Best regards
      Volker
