The default settings use the "Monaco" font which I didn't have, making Notepad++ use some 'random' font (probably scintillas default font). Maybe include the Monaco font or change it to what was used in the screenshot? Monaco is a bit large for my liking anyways.
Also points out another problem: Notepad++ allows you to select the blank entry as the default font, resulting in said 'random' font.

Say, I have been wanting to start using Notepad++ for a while mainly because of its zooming feature...the only thing that has been keeping away from it is the fact that I have been too lazy to go through the options/preferences and change everything to reverse video.
Anyway, just for the heck of it, I now visited this site and found this vibrant style and the screen shot...I would like to install this...how do I do about it? I just downloaded the latest Notepad++ and Port_VibrantInk.zip with stylers.xml, replaced the one the came with Notepad++ with it, but I still don't see the black background, yet...what's up?

I like it a lot, even it's not really readable for me.
Here you can download the stylers.xml made by Tyler Ritchie :

Enjoy.

You have to look where your stylers.xml is stored:
using Notepad++ installer, path is -> %appdata%\Notepad++
using Notepad++ Zip pack , path is -> %programfiles%\Notepad++
but black is not my colour :/
Cheers.
Got it...thanks.
