I use the Change arkers plugin, which ha a Jump to previous change function. If I can think about it, I add a trailin spac at the place I want to go back to.
But this would be a cool feature, ask for it on IdeaTorrent.

the jump to previous change function is almost what I'm looking for. Except what the plugin calls "previous change" is not the "latest change", but the "nearest change above the cursor".
Maybe I'll simply do the define-a-macro-that-executes-undo-and-redo thing.

How to return to the last positon? I usually want to return from a new position to the last position.
Set a bookmark first by clicking in the left margin. Press F2 to go to the next bookmark. Have a look in the Search menu.
You can also use Multi-view if you want to be able to look at two places in the same file. See http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/Multi-ViewHowTo for details.

Currently I use Undo+Redo which is kinda crappy. Any better way?
