Save Dialog and File Extension

    In version 4.4:

Save Dialog in Vista doesn't use new theme dialog as in Open Dialog...

Besides, I can't change the file extension of a file when saving it... if the file name is bla.txt and I type bla.html in the Save dialog, it ignores me and saves the file with the .txt extension.

In previous versions everything was OK...

If the places bar will be implemented, it should show the extended version with the user defined places and it should show small icons if defined in the registry.
      Heinz.

This is also present in XP and in version 4.5 as well.  Save uses the old 9x style dialog instead of the newer XP / Vista ones with the left sidebar on them.  Open dialog is uneffected.

I can confirm this bug on my XP+SP2 machine. The "open dialog" displays the left sidebar, however the "save dialog" displays no sidebar (like good old 9x). I use version 4.6--can it be possible that this is a registry issue? The file to save is just a "New 1" file.

      Ditto. This really really sucks.

I can confirm this still happens for me in 4.5

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2

The "left sidebar" is correctly called "Places Bar", this is missing in the save dialog.
