Downloaded 4.6 and it still has the bug I identified earlier - but I now have a workaround.
As I said before - the problem occurs if I have two files open in "cloned" views and switch from one to the other - each time I do this more memory is allocated (and in fact the amount of extra memory allocated increases each time). I had been running with the Function List turned on at the side of the screen - if I close the Function List window then the problem seems to go away, so it look as though the problem is in that module.
Hope this helps to track the problem down

I contacted Jens (FunctionList author) to know if it is still maintained.
If so, then fixed version will be included in the next version.
Otherwise it'll be removed from next release.

Earlier? Where? Why not post this message in the same thread? You could also mention the version number 4.6 in the subject, if that's why you started a new one.

I see, that is an answer to my question, but it was kind of rhetorical. I mean, if you just started that thread, you could simply add there that it still happens in 4.6.

OK - I have found the bug report in the plugins support forum so will follow up there - thanks
I can reproduce this bug.

I reported this from memory in 4.1, 4.3 and 4.5 - the 4.5 only a few days ago (21st Nov).

FunctionList is a Notepad++ plugin but not a part of Notepad++.
Which version of FunctionList do you use?
Don
Ah - I just use whatever came bundled with the download - seems to be version 1.2. Should I contact the author directly?
