What Retail Products out there compare?

I have a stupid question... What retail products currently on the market (with retail support) compare to Notepad++? I really like all of the features of Notepad++, but my company will not let us install it because it is open source (freeware) and does not have retail support. So, instead of getting a free source editor, they want to purchase licenses for everyone in my group. Sounds silly, but I guess a lot off businesses do things this way. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Open source software are not synonym of freeware.
They can be sold (with its source code, according its license), through it's not the case for the most of open source software.
In the case of Notepad++, I prefer that you call it "free software" instead of "freeware".

Branch notepad++, rebadge it then form your own company and sell AwesomePad(c) to your employers with an associated 'support contract'.
Kidding. Textpad or Multipad cost money and do roughly the same job as Notepad++.
UltraEdit is not bad, if you want to pay for something you also can get free.
