Yes you can be a purist and spell it OK, however this a useability issue. Do most people know that Ok stands for OK? Yes, is something that slows people down due to confusion? No. If it takes too long to change it isn't worth doing.
The English language is a constantly moving and changing thing. One day you write it one way the next it can be done differently.

"Ok" in the dialog boxes should be spelled "OK", with the "K" capitalized.
